INGREDIENTS - WHY WE USE THEM

All our ingredients are of the highest quality and organic, we do not use any additives, preservatives or any nasties. Quality ingredients make great tasting, quality treats that are good for your dogs mind and body.  We are always looking at developing new treats to add to our range and will add to the list of ingredients below as necessary.

OATS

Low in calories, packed with benefits! Firstly they are a great nervine tonic, (acting therapeutically on the nerves) and contain a higher concentration of protein, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, thiamine, folacin, and vitamin E than any other unfortified whole grain. Oats are low in gluten and can help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease, they are rich in fibre and have a low GI content, slowing the digestion rate enhancing the absorption of tryptophan (amino acid essential for the production of serotonin) and sustaining energy longer. Ultimately beneficial to overall good health of many organs and systems – nervous, stomach, skin, lungs, spleen, digestion, urinary and reproductive. 

BROWN RICE FLOUR

Made from wholegrain rice and gluten free. Brown rice is rich in antioxidants, can help stabilize blood sugar, is high in fibre and is a good source of manganese and selenium.  Good for skin/coat health and the immune system.

SWEET POTATOES

Wonder vegetable for your dog, high in dietary fibre, beta-carotene, nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Low in calories and full of powerful antioxidants. Sweet potatoes may boost the immune system, assist with blood sugar regulation and support eye health

CARROTS

A great nutritious vegetable for your dog, they are low in calories, high in fibre and all vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K. They are high in antioxidants, potassium, calcium, iron and are great for skin, coat and eye health. 

SPINACH

High in antioxidants, iron, calcium, potassium and vitamins A, B6 and K. Great combo with cheese for energy, making our Cheese and Spinach treats a great training aid. 

CRANBERRIES

High in antioxidants, providing immune support, they are a good source of vitamin C, E & K, dietary fibre, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and manganese.  Cranberries are known for their support of the urinary tract, kidney, bladder and heart health and may help improve age related declines in memory, balance and coordination.

BANANAS

Great source of energy, with good nutritional value. Bananas contain several essential amino acids, electrolytes, minerals, vitamins B6 and C, potassium, fibre and manganese.  Good support for heart health, digestive system.

APPLES

Apples have numerous health benefits and dogs love them. A good source of fibre, vitamins A & C, antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenols and phytonutrients. If feeding apples to your dog at home do not feed the seeds/cores to them.

BLUEBERRIES

High in antioxidants, rich in vitamins and minerals. Nutritionally a wonderful fruit that supports heart health, cognitive functions, eye health and the immune system. They are rich in fibre and may also protect the body from stress

SUNFLOWER SEEDS

Rich in antioxidants, a great source of vitamins, minerals and healthy fats. They contain high levels of vitamin E which can help improve your dog’s skin and coat. High in Vitamin B8 and selenium, helping relieve stress so in turn may assist your dog feel healthier and happier. They are anti-inflammatory and heart healthy. 

PUMPKIN SEEDS

Contain many important nutrients for your dog’s overall health including calcium, protein, amino acids, magnesium, folic acid, niacin, fibre and selenium, the deficiency of which can lead to increased anxiety, fatigue and depression. They contain many vitamins and area natural source of healthy unsaturated fatty acids. 

FLAXSEEDS 

Flaxseeds are a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids and good for heart health. They are great for your dog’s skin and coat and they contain beneficial fibre to aid the digestive system. 

MILLET

Low in calories, gluten free and easily digested. They contain B vitamins, iron and potassium and are rich in protein. 

COCONUT

Rich protein source that is great for skin and coat condition, coconut is also an excellent source of lauric acid, manganese, iron, phosphorus and potassium. Coconut can support the healthy function of the thyroid, immune and digestive system

PEANUTS

Rich in protein, a good source of energy and contain antioxidants. They are a good source of vitamins and minerals in particular vitamin E & B, minerals copper, manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium. They may help protect against heart disease as they contain good levels of healthy monounsaturated fats

ASCOPHYLLUM NODOSUM (seaweed)

Rich source of natural vitamins and minerals including essential trace minerals. Great for healthy skin and coat, the digestive system, to maximise overall health, boost the immune system and assisting the body in better utilization and absorption of nutrients 

ALFALFA

Alfalfa is a green food with many benefits containing a broad range of nutrients including protein, vitamins, calcium, dietary fibre and carotene. It’s high in chlorophyll, high in antioxidants and considered anti-inflammatory.  Good herb for arthritis and to support the older animal. 

PEPPERMINT

Natural breath freshener that also has antibacterial properties, several nutrients and can help stimulate the immune system. Peppermint is known for its ability to help with travel sickness, soothing upset tummies and aid concentration. 

PARSLEY

High in chlorophyll and another great breath freshener. It is a great source of many vitamins and minerals. 

CINNAMON

Powerful antioxidant with antifungal and antibacterial properties. Can assist with regulating blood sugar. Beneficial spice for dogs, full of flavour. 

GINGER

A nutritious spice with antioxidant properties and great tasting. It is a good for the digestive system, travel sickness and flatulence!

TURMERIC 

A powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. Supports many functions of the body and beneficial to the older dog. Good for skin health, allergies and research shows that it may be beneficial to dogs with canine cognitive dysfunction.  

DANDELION:

One of the best healthy green foods for nutritional values containing many nutrients beneficial to your dog. It is great for skin and coat health, it supports digestion, immunity, kidney s and liver and has many antioxidant properties. 

CHEESE

Excellent source of calcium and protein that many dogs love. 

HONEY

Natural source of energy, good for skin and coat health, supports the immune system and has antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal properties. 

BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES

Contains beneficial nutrients including being high in iron and vitamin B

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Great for the skin and coat, this oil contains fatty acids Omega 3 & 6, vitamins A, D, E and K.
